IPA Usage Policy

We currently have one IPA license that allows for five accounts to use their service, but does not allow for consecutive usage. Each account will be given on a per-lab basis, so each lab should have an appointed user as their IPA account holder to whom we will give a login and password. Users need to sign up at bottom URL before using the software. As it is shared license, only one user is allowed to use it at the same time. Failing to following the sign-up policy will result in suspending the use of the software.

To allow multiple accounts fair access to the IPA license, all account holders will have to schedule their time on our reservation system. This is an honor system relying on all users to follow the rules so everyone can have fair access and thus IPA usage is monitored. Please note that the reservation system is first come first served.

If there are more than five groups that need to access the software, the accounts will be rotated on the basis of usage. If there is a new user request for the software, the account that is used the least will be passed to the new user in one week. It will be up to the user to export and remove data from the IPA account when passing the account to the next lab or risk exposing that data to the next user. Reasonable requests can be made during the transition.

Account Usage Rules:

  • Login on during time scheduled
  • Log off immediately at end of scheduled time
  • Do not leave active sessions unattended, or risk failure to logoff at end of scheduled time
  • Do not over schedule time(Reservation system will aid to prevent this)
  • Follow administrator requests promptly

If everyone follows these rules and understands that this is a shared resource, then everyone can use this resource without any issues. If there are any questions, please email us at cbiadmin@utsa.edu

Reserve your time here only after you have been given login credentials.
